Description

This course of four classes will give the students the basic knowledge on the sewing machines, the tools to repair and alter their garments, as well to provide the first steps on how to start working with garment reconstruction techniques.

Objectives

– Understand the basic use of the sewing machines.

– Carry out different ways for mending/repairing damaged clothes.

– Learn how to alter/fit clothes to your body.

– Apply easy reconstruction techniques to redesign garments.

– Finish the course with at least one repaired item, one altered item, and two reconstructed items of clothes.

Requirements

Level : Beginners

No previous knowledge required. The course will have and provide all the necessary tools to work with, but the students need to bring their own unwanted clothes to repurpose. The more clothes they bring, the more possibilities we can explore.
